- CrossFit West after just 8 months!

Today’s day of giving thanks got me thinking about many of the things I am so very grateful for. I got to thinking about our gym and our community and how in such a short time we have built something very special. It is a place that I am so proud of, full of great people who show up on a daily basis working to better their lives. It’s an inspiring place that I love very much. And for that I am very thankful.

I miss y’all and have been getting my fix at CrossFit Lake Forest while I’ve been away. I worked out with a guy named Ari today who said he visited CFWSC recently while in town with his girlfriend Heather. The workouts have been brutal! One day we did 7 rounds of 5 burpees, 10 KB swings (35#) and 15 med ball squat cleans. Sounds so easy, but it wasn’t. Took me about 11:30 sec. Also did a deadlift WOD working the bar down as well – no dropping even on the singles – 10,5,5,3,3,3,1,1,1,10. I made it up to 245# on my single. Today we ran 1 mile (6:47), rest 3 min., AMRAP of 30 consequtive DU in 4 min.(only got 1 round – made it to 20 5 times), rest 3 min., run 1 mile (6:43), rest 3 min., 20 DU every 30 sec. for 3 min., run 1 mile cool down (7:05). My calves are on fire. Can’t wait to see you on Monday. I’m so grateful for our rocking box! Love, Kirsten
