		<description>Great article.  I think that there is no reason not to treat Crossfit as your sport of choice, but it is important to think of some WODs as practice and others as game.  A swimmer doesn&#039;t PR every time they get in the pool, but when a big race comes up they do everything they can to give their absolute best performance.  That means eating right, mentally preparing in advance, strategizing, and using every last ounce of energy to get across the line.  And still, you can&#039;t win every race.

For Crossfit, I think it makes sense to strive for this same level of intensity on benchmark WODs sometimes, but when you come to the gym after a long day at work, or without having spent some time strategizing, or after a weekend of hard drinking, etc. you cannot expect to coast into a PR every time.  But I don&#039;t think it&#039;s unreasonable to step it up sometimes and look for a PR.  And if you fail, it&#039;s ok to treat it like a loss in a sport - think hard about what went wrong and how you can improve.</description>
